What are your allegiances, attachments? What are you dedicated to?

The Persian poet and mystic Hafiz wrote:

“Even after all this time

the sun never says to the earth

‘You owe me.’

Look what happens with a love like that,

it lights the whole sky.”

Or perhaps we are devoted to that which no longer serves us.
We can use poem-making as a means of discovery, at the very least to pose more questions! And we can create new ways of faithfulness to our art.
